Infusion Therapy for Neurodegenerative Diseases:
Supportive Care Options Explained
Neurodegenerative Disease is a collective term for a number of diseases that primarily affect neural cells in the human brain. Neural cells are the building blocks of the nervous system, including the brain and spinal cord. They usually do not multiply or replace themselves. Thus, damaged or dead neural cells cannot be renewed by the body. Neurodegenerative diseases include Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease and Huntington's disease.
To date, neurodegenerative diseases are not curable. They weaken the patient’s overall health and lead to progressive degeneration and death of neural cells. The consequences are problems with movement coordination (ataxia) or mental abilities (dementia).
Infusion therapies cannot cure neurodegenerative diseases or be expected to stop their progression. However, they can provide the body with selected nutrients, vitamins and other substances that may support normal metabolic and immune functions and contribute to general wellbeing. Individual effects can vary, and a specific therapeutic benefit cannot be guaranteed.
ANOVA’s Infusion Therapy: What We Offer and What Is Known
ANOVA is continuously exploring supportive treatment options for patients with neurodegenerative diseases. As these conditions cannot currently be cured, we believe patients should be informed about approaches that may help support their general health and wellbeing. Infusion therapy may be considered as one such supportive option. In collaboration with pharmacists, we develop individually tailored infusion protocols, which our physicians may recommend depending on each patient’s medical condition and needs. In selected cases, infusion therapy may also be combined with ANOVA’s Stem Cell Secretome. Laboratory and preclinical research is investigating possible anti-inflammatory and regeneration-related properties of secretome preparations; clinical findings in Parkinson’s disease, ALS and Alzheimer’s disease are early. Schedule a consultation to discuss your individual situation and possible treatment options with our physicians.
Infusion schemes at ANOVA are scheduled over 1-5 days and may comprise different infusion components, including:
- Curcumin infusions
- Resveratrol infusions
- Vagus-fit infusions
- Neuro-complex infusions
- Galactose infusions
- Vitamin B forte infusions
Whether infusions — alone or combined with the Stem Cell Secretome — influence cellular regeneration, healing processes or the course of a neurodegenerative disease has not been shown in clinical studies. Research in this field is at an early stage. A slowing of disease progression, a reduction of symptoms or any other therapeutic benefit cannot be promised.
Contraindications
Our stem cell treatments are experimental, but we only treat patients for whom we believe the risk/benefit ratio indicates treatment based on the state of the art, i.e., medical, scientific evidence.
Please understand that we therefore do not treat patients for whom the following points apply:
- Active cancer in the last two years
- Not yet of legal age
- Existing pregnancy or lactation period
- Unable to breathe on own, ventilator
- Difficulty breathing in supine position
- Dysphagia (extreme difficulty swallowing)
- Psychiatric disorder
- Active infectious disease (Hepatitis A, B, C, HIV, Syphilis, or other)
